Every point in the universe is filled with matchless manifestations of Allah’s creative artistry. Everywhere we look at reflects His infinite might and greatness. All the delicate structures and balances on Earth and all the countless physical and cosmic laws that pervade it, the Milky Way, the Solar System, the light emitted by the Sun, the rate of expansion of the universe, the level of viscosity of water, Earth’s position in the Milky Way, the distance between the Earth and Moon, the proportions of gasses in the atmosphere and countless other such physical data, together with entities such as the seas, the oceans, the mountains, butterflies, squirrels, deer, tigers, cats and countless others all clearly reveal the existence of our Sublime and Almighty Lord.
Whichever order in the universe or living thing around them human beings may examine, they see the evidence of an extraordinary mind in it. A tiny insect or fish swimming in the blackness of the oceans contains countless details regarding a sublime Creation.
This great mind that pervades every point in the universe is of course proof of the existence of an Almighty Creator Who rules all things.
This Creator is Allah. Allah has created all things with extraordinary characteristics and thus given mankind manifest evidence of His own existence and might.
There is no need for biochemical laboratories or the results from geological excavations in order to see this. Indeed, the existence of Allah is evident to even the smallest child.
Anyone who reflects on the sky, the mountains, the stars, plants, seeds, animals and the creation of the countless things in existence all around for even a short time will witness the creative artistry of Allah and thus recognize and turn to our Lord, Who created him and the whole universe out of nothing.
The existence of Allah pervades all places
Some people imagine that they themselves, matter and the world around them have absolute existence. They think of Allah (surely He is beyond that) as an illusion overlaying that absolute matter. Or else, since they cannot see Allah with their own eyes, they say, “Allah must be somewhere we cannot see, far off in space or the heavens.” (Surely Allah is beyond that.) But these are all grave errors.
That is because Allah is everywhere, not just in the heavens. As the only absolute being, Allah pervades the entire universe, all human beings, the Earth, the sky and everywhere, and He is manifested everywhere in the universe.
It must not be forgotten that Allah is unfettered by time and space. His Own Being is different but His manifestations are everywhere. If someone enters a room and says that Allah is not there he is denying Allah.
It is revealed in several verses of the Qur’an that Allah enfolds everywhere, that He is closer to us than our own jugulars and that wherever we look we see the Face of Allah. In verse 255 of Surat Al-Baqara, for instance, Allah says “... His Kursi encompasses the heavens and the earth....” Verse 92 of Surah Hud reads, “... My Lord encompasses everything that you do,” thus revealing that Allah also pervades people’s deeds.
The reality revealed in the Qur’an is clear: Allah is not just in the sky. Allah pervades all places. We are told this through the Qur’an. Telling people of the secret behind matter will be instrumental in these verses being better grasped and understood.
People who realize that matter has no absolute existence will realize that Allah is present in all places and at all times, that He sees and hears them at every moment, that He witnesses all things, that He is closer to them than their own jugulars and that He hears their every prayer. Allah creates all things, and one must control one’s own mind in order not to forget this.
Science proves the existence of Allah
“Science” is the way to investigate the universe and everything in it and to decipher Allah’s creative artistry and describe it to people. The religion therefore favors science as a path to unlocking the details in Allah’s creation, and therefore strongly encourages it.
In the same way that religion encourages scientific research, so scientific research directed according to the truths revealed by religion will bring very swift and certain results.
That is because religion is the only reference source to provide the most accurate and certain answer to the question of how the universe and living things came into being.
As Albert Einstein, regarded as one of the greatest scientists of the 20th Century, said, “science without religion is lame.” In other words, there can be no scientific progress down a path not led by religion. Either it takes a long time to obtain results or else, and more frequently, no results are forthcoming at all.
Allah calls on people to research and investigate such subjects as the sky, rain, plants, animals, birth and geographical features. Some of the matters that Allah tells us to reflect on are revealed as follows in verses: “Have they not looked at the sky above them: How We structured it and made it beautiful and how there are no fissures in it? And the earth: How We stretched it out and cast firmly embedded mountains onto it and caused luxuriant plants of every kind to grow in it, an instruction and a reminder for every penitent human being. And We sent down blessed water from the sky and made gardens grow by it and grain for harvesting and soaring date-palms with layered spathes.” (Surah Qaf, 6-10)
“Man has only to look at what he was created from?” (Surat at-Tariq, 5) The facts obtained as the result of scientific research introduce people to the secret of Creation and the infinite knowledge, mind and power of Allah. And that is why a great many scientists who have rendered huge services to mankind over the course of history have been believers; because science is a means of appreciating the might of Allah…
